In this part, you
have to answer questions about vocabulary and grammar points as you do in Part
5. However, instead of sentences, you are given four texts that each have three
missing words. Therefore, there are 12 questions for you to answer in this
part.
1.
Though this part contains texts such as e-mails, letters, notices, and
articles, you should avoid starting with reading the whole texts. You
are not asked to find information to answer the questions (you will have to do
that in Part 7).
2.
Focus on the sentences which contain the missing words. Then, try to identify which
grammar points or vocabulary you are asked to choose.
3.
Read the sentences you need to complete.
4.
If the reading those sentences does not help you find a clear answer, move
backward or forward to read the preceding or following sentences. For
example, if you have to decide which verb tense should be used in the sentence,
you might read the previous sentences and consider the order and the continuity
of the event.
Follow the tips
given here, and I’m sure you will improve you skills and ultimately end up with
a higher score. Make sure you don’t miss my next blog post about Part 7.
